Workshop | Deploying Containers with Kubernetes

Ben Hall, Ocelot Uproar

While launching a container may look simple, changing the complexity of systems at scale running via containers can result in significant issues. Kubernetes, a production-grade container orchestrator, is designed to support teams deploying containers at scale with multi-cloud support.

In this workshop, Ben will help you to understand the foundations of what Kubernetes offers and get you on your way to deploying your application.

This workshop is designed for people who understand the concept of containers, but wondering how they work at scale and in production.

 Topics will include:

  • Initialising a Kubernetes cluster
  • Deploying and managing applications
  • Using databases and stateful services on Kubernetes
  • CI/CD with Kubernetes
  • Monitoring containers
  • Running Kubernetes securely
  • Running Kubernetes in the cloud

By the end, attendees should understand how to get started with Kubernetes, understand how to deploy applications and the concerns involved and be confident about how to take the next steps.
