WebAssembly: A Threat To Docker?

Solomon Hykes, CTO of Docker: “If WASM+WASI existed in 2008, we wouldn’t have needed to created Docker… Webassembly on the server is the future of computing.” Though initially created for the browser, WebAssembly/WASM is now being used increasingly as a cross platform server-side deployment solution. This talk briefly introduces WebAssembly, and demonstrates how a project might be migrated from Docker to WASM. But is it WebAssembly mature enough for you to use tomorrow? How does its speed compare to Docker? Critically, how do the security aspects compare?
